Poem of the Week
I once knew a girl,
Well not really knew,
But wanted to
Uncanny really,
A glimpse by chance
Began a dance
Something heartwarming
Innocent and charming

So how'd I get here
When I wasn't even there
Why, oh why, oh why
Complicated ending
Or was it just beginning
Here I go again
Spinning, spinning, spinning

Simple moments spent
Step by step we went
No agendas needed
Contact day or night
It always felt right
Intentions not intended
Yet comfortably splendid
A sudden found attraction

Upon Circumstance askin'
Demeanor, ambition, check
Family, value system, check
A ringing southern melody
Check, check, check
Oh what the heck
We've barely even met
Spinning
S. Cooper Columbus, Ohio
So how'd I get here
When I wasn't even there
Why, oh why, oh why
Complicated ending
Or was it just beginning
Here I go again
Spinning, spinning, spinning

Soon following kisses
No hesitation or misses
Not a one sided affair
Electricity in the air
Charges hit me hard
Only a fool would disregard
Possibility took root
And feelings were en route
Arrive they did indeed
But met and left to breed
With silence sent by her
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
Positive ambiance shattered
Shards of what if scattered
A mess left for one
Cleanup has begun

So how'd I get here
When I wasn't even there
Why, oh why, oh why
Complicated ending
Or was it just beginning
Here I go again
Spinning, spinning, spinning
No signs of fu**in' mending
Spinning, spinning, spinning
